Texture Cycling

I can't seem to stop the random texture cycling in 1.8. I've emptied my cache, restarted my computer and set all the graphics options to the lowest settings. This sucks. P2P is great, but if you can't stay inworld long enough to go anywhere, what's the point? Even my clothing and skin are unstable. I'm getting more than frustrated. I'm a premium account holder, but I'm about to cancel it and go for a freebie one. Why pay monthly for a service that you can't use very often? LL really should start handing out rebates.
