Edit Selection Outline Occlusion problem

This is something that has shown up here recently and for the life of me I can't get rid of it....it's a show-stopper as far as me being able to build or edit prims for any longer than 5 minutes at a time.

This is of course with the Release Candidate version, which is not exactly the current version or the first look, which is why I post this here.

To explain...normally when you would edit a prim, you would get glowing prim outlines for the sides of the prim that are visible to you at the angle you are viewing them.

Now I get the prim outlines for every edge of the prim...almost like wireframe or transparency. This is very disorienting for me in the extreme, and not only that, the glowing outlines don't seem to follow the prims when moving the camera, resulting in and extremely nauseating experience when trying to build anything...

Hell, I can't even see some smaller prims because this excess of glowing lines completely covers them up or makes it impossible to distinguish one prim from another.

I've tried turning on and off every option in the menus, especially the ones relating to occlusion, and none of them help at all, and the occlusion ones don't seem to do anything at all...some even cause an instant crash of the client.

Does anyone know how to fix this crap? Because until it is, I can't do anything without giving myself a massive headache.

tools / show hidden selection

^ That one you mean?, with this on, you will get lines on all sides especially hell if its a linked object with loads of prims.

I'm curious as to what you mean when you say "the glowing outlines don't follow the prim"...

Do you mean what's shown in this image?

If so, I can sympathise. It makes me feel sick, and gives me a headache :(

That's it exactly Robby...and note how you can see the full wireframe outline for the linkset instead of just the prim edges currently visible to you. That's exactly what I'm talking about....I've had to switch to using the normal client instead of the RC as it doesn't do that crap.

In fact just watching that for more than 5 seconds for that sword gives me a headache lol. the full wireframe in of itself is a headache just because it makes it damn hard to work with smaller prims and prim pieces because you can't see them.

Which....I actually just got the latest patch for the RC, and it looks like both of those problems have been fixed. :)

And yes, Thili, I was talking about what "Show Hidden Selection" does, but it couldn't be turned off even with that unselected.
