I canot find a license ofr Second Life. I found attributions for 14 different open source products in the about box and details in the license.txt file.

However no license specific to SL

Any ideas?

The SL client is free to distribute, I would think, seeing as it is provided for free on the website.
Just don't try to modify the executable, unless you get the OpenSource viewer, which I believe is GPL.
Servers: if you manage to find a copy of the server floating around, report the distributor to LL, as it shouldn't exist outside of LL. Yet.

Actually all software is copyrighted and users should not assume rigths not explicity granted. Perhaps one can make some assumption about personal use as its on a website, but there should be some form of license and its frankly not very professional not to support one. I guess I can reverse engineer, charge for it, what ever I want based on the hey its free logic.

So do i read from the lack of response that no one knows of any license that I haven't found

Just FYI
Found the license, its include in the Terms of Service TOS
its only a license to use, no distribution, modification and only as long as compling with the TOS

If you mean the license for the Open Source viewer/code/stuff:
http://secondlife.com/developers/opensource/
http://secondlife.com/developers/opensource/licenses

So it appears (as of this post) that it's under the GPL.

The Terms of Service of SL (http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php ) says like.. "you may copy the Viewer that Linden Lab provides to you, for backup purposes and may give copies of the Viewer to others free of charge. Further, you may use and modify the source code for the Viewer as permitted by any open source license agreement under which Linden Lab distributes such Viewer source code.", as of my post. (But read the rest near what I quoted, to be sure.)
