Known Issues & Development Updates has been silent since 5/26...

Can we get an updated list of "known issues" soon? :)

I'm pretty sure all the issues have been resolved or otherwise not known. :)

It would be a shorter list if they just posted what works as it should...

Funnily enough I remarked on that a day or so back to someone - these days in SL it's harder to find something that works than something that's bugged - what an achievement with it's 3rd birthday coming up! :(

Torley? Brent?

I'm noticing that the inventory window is till jumping about... and a few other issues like object full-bright flashes every 2 seconds or so... (but only sometimes. Fixing the sun position seems to make it stop).

Any chance we can get an updated 'known issues' list posted soon? :)

I'll bring this to dev & QA attention.

Yes, I love the Known Issues updates.

For "Inventory window is still jumping about", what's the repro for that? I'm aware there are still some open bugs which sound familiar--including "Inventory: Scrollbar repeatedly resets to position of first search match when it's streaming or when a Friend comes online" which Dan actually let me know includes two separate bugs.

I don't personally know about the "full bright" one... I'm gonna ask!

Thanx in advance for helping us to nail it, Jopsy. :)

That's the one! :) I quite often use my mouse scroll button to pan down the inventory list. I find that putting the focus on an inventory item once the results start coming in helps negate the 'jump-to-top' behavior. (probably serves me right for have so much in my inventory and too many calling cards! :)

The object bright flash is very clearly tied to sky update and when it occurs it seems most noticible just prior to dawn, (when the blue-tint moonlight is being overtaken by the orange-tint sunlight).

Also, for some reason it seems much more pronounced when I'm up at 500m. Once it started it used to persist until I logged out, but now it seems to come and go, and often quiets down to more of a becomes more of muted brief 'dim light' blink during sky update.

I've seen this behavior on both an windows PC with an ATI6800 and under MacOSX10.4.6 intel iMac (ATI Radeon X1600)

Thanks Torley!! :D

Well, we were hoping to give this a bit more of an official release, maybe a little fanfare... and a party dress. But here ya go:

Second Life | Support: Known Issues

Second Life Known Issues
------------------------------
This page contains issues Linden Lab has verified as in the current release and Safe for Public[1]. It is very important to note that this is a work in progress and that we are actively scrubbing bugs and getting them squeaky clean for their appearance on the Known Issues page. This page auto-updates in the wee hours Monday thru Friday. This is not a complete list of bugs in Second Life. From top to bottom:

Priority Key: This is the priority we have given each bug. The priority is gauged by the following. It is not uncommon for bugs to be up/downgraded in priority throughout their lifespans.

Showstoppers are must-fixes for the next release version that cause Second Life to be completely unusable for the majority of Residents.

Criticals are should-fixes (but not guaranteed to be fixed) for the next release version.

Majors are bugs that we acknowledge as bad but usually have a known workaround, or are less critical to fix because they affect a minority of Residents. We still feel these are important and we try to get them fixed in each major point release.

Normals are bugs that do not hinder use of Second Life but are annoying nonetheless.

Smalls are bugs that we consider pretty low on the totem pole.

Issue (SL) Number: This is the internal key (SL-#) of an issue. Linden Lab uses an issue tracking system company-wide, so these numbers tend to be all over the map. The SL-# does not in any way indicate how many bugs are in Second Life!

Short Bug Description: This is a short description meant to allow quick scanning of the page for a specific issue. They are written tersely and usually modified by QA before posting.

Affects: This is what version(s) this bug has been verified in and what key components are affected (in parentheses).

Reproduction: This is how you reproduce the bug. Following these steps should result in the Observed Results. We usually put the Expected Results here as well. To access the Reproduction, click the triangle.

[1]: Safe for Public bugs are any non-exploit[2] issue that either hinders use of Second Life, results in unexpected behavior, or otherwise negatively impacts Resident experiences inworld. Safe for Public bugs are reproducible by Residents. An example of a bug we would not list would be a bug in simulator code which negatively impacts the Resident experience, but has no repro.

[2]: Exploits are bugs that could be used to get an advantage over others, unauthorized access to scripts, unauthorized copying, transferring or modifying of objects that you didn't create (also called 'permissions' bugs) and other bugs that could potentially cause a comprimise of the grid or a resident's privacy. We take exploits very seriously but do not list them in the Known Issues page. If you have an exploit bug, please report it and contact a Liaison or an Officer of the Bug Hunters group with the RT# your are given by the auto-response email. (see also: Bug Reporting 101)

Torley, love, bright-hearted dear, there's still the female av musculature problem, vexing me each and every logon, unendingly. I was told no less than 2 times that it was fixed, but it has come to naught on my end. I have done clean installs, too. Dear heart, O bright spot on these drear forums, could you PLEASE see if something about this can be done?

Many thanks in advance, and no, none of that was sarcasm, as you are one of the few out there that I like amongst the staffers.

Yours in appreciation and hope,

Brent-

* THANK YOU ! * :D

(As the list grows, I hope we'll get the ability to search, sort and filter too! :)

Wonderful news! I didn't even know about this until Karen sprung the news on me. Well, this thread has had a good cadence. ^_~

Mika: Awww... that bug is still on the books, so to speak, since several months ago when you first told me about it. I haven't forgotten.

I'll add your latest post to the record... and if you've come across more Residents who want it to be fixed, please email me (torley@lindenlab.com) all the links to the related forum threads. What would really help here is knowing how many more want this fixed--while not an absolute, it helps us gage priority when fixing bugs, since there honestly hasn't been high demand for this one relative to others; we've already got a solid repro from you, thankfully. :)

Not to be a Negative Nelly yet again, but this can't be the full list of known bugs in SL can it?

There are tons of build bugs and so forth that are not mentioned here. And what about "half the people in the room are invisible until you change groups?"

That's not a bug? It's only been around since 1.5

That was my reaction as well... Then I saw the line where Brent said:

"It is very important to note that this is a work in progress and that we are actively scrubbing bugs and getting them squeaky clean for their appearance on the Known Issues page"

Can't go airing dirty bugs in public after all! :)

I expect the list will become more comprehensive over the next few days/weeks. :)

(and maybe they'll add a new category of: Resolved! :D)

Yay! Thank you! :)
