it seems when creating a custom color - the color is reverted to black after logging out.

This has always been the case in the standard windows-style color picker/creator window. Now, it also does this for the "Color for My Effects" color in the General tab of Preferences. It used to remember the color you'd created there, and sometimes I used that instead of paper and pencil to store a color to have when I relogged. "Worser and worser"

known bug.
the code to WRITE the colors to the new XML config files uses SPACE as a separator
the code to READ them uses COMMA
I think the term for this is "cock-up"

Just to add for an info here. It seem that entire Preferences is reset whenever you install v1.11. So I won't surprise if that My Effects Color will be reset too.
What a stupid bugs that got released to public anyway, the config seperator problem...

Do you have any non-ascii characters in you WINDOWS username? The username forms part of the path to the config file, and there seem to be some issues with accented and international characters appearing in there. |

Well, no. I always use english in directory and usernames.

I thought they were gone for good, after each relog. I have many pages in my sketchbook with RGB settings written down and descriptions next to them like "the green for the blue skirt" because I always lost any color from the color/tint picker after a relog. I shoulda bug reported this, I guess, but I had no idea that they were saved for anyone. Thank you for enlightening me.

This bug has already been fixed internally and should be available soon in a future release of Second Life.
I feel ya, I miss my pink My Effects particles and yellow chat text too.
