The preview client available for download at http://secondlife.com/preview/ right now is version 1.7.0.34, which can't connect to the preview grid. Lindens, please update this to 1.7.0.37.

The website was updated today around noon, and it appears that the wrong version was introduced at that time. A new installer will be available tomorrow to correct the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!
