Severe Screen Skip with no lag on ver.15

Hi this is the first time ive posted on any of the forums. Until now Ive never really needed to. I have been having all of the problems that have been being discussed here and tried setting it so it is only using one of the CPU's. But I am still having serious issues with screen skip and and things taking forever to rezz. I guess, this is my question: I began playing in sl in Jan 07 and im pretty sure it was the version 13 that was out....Everything ran great for me then...Version 14 came along and I updated to it and had all the symtoms im having now. So at that time there was a way to revert back to 13, which i did and solved the problem. Everything is fine until version 15 comes out and now im back with all the problems I had before.....Im not very knowlegable on troubleshooting whether it is Server side or Client side, or maybe some settings that are changed. But im assuming that since it ran fine before its not something that I have done, and has something to do with the new version 15. Does anyone know what version 15 may have changed that would cause the severe screen skipping that I could fix?...My last couse of action will be re-installing tonight, but after that I am just completely screwed...HELP...!!!

"Screen skipping" as in objects disapear for one frame?

no, just everything is delayed, push and arrow key, 1 to two seconds the Avatar starts moving, then it is like freeze frameing as i turn or move...no differance if i turn off one of the CPUs in the duel core or not...?

Check for packet loss. Packet loss issues are pretty common, I've been experiencing them lately as well.

Another thing to check up on is your ping versus sim ping (Ctrl+Shift+1). If your ping is really high (200+), then it's your connection. If your ping is around 100 and sim ping is abnormally high, then it's the sim being slow. If you've determined that your connection is the cause, see if you've got any downloads going on in the background or anything else that is otherwise taxing your line.

As for your CPUs, SL runs much better set to a single one, but I doubt processor performance is causing your symptoms. More than likely a lot of people are experiencing the same problems you are, so just give the grid some time to relax itself or log off and try again later.

The Time Dialation has an effect of syncronisation between LL servers and your client... if this drops below 50% its crash time... if it stays somewhere between 90-100% for the most part all is 'normal'. Also found in Ctrl+Shift+1

Also look at Ctrl+Shift+9 and check the Idle Time, see what percentages you are getting there...

Press the same key combinations to remove those graphs etc..

I've been stably connected to sims with time dilations below 0.5 (heck, I watched it flicker down at 0.00 to 0.01) with sim FPS at <0.1, physics FPS <0.1....

Reading the posts on the forums, would seem a lot of people are in game under the same conditions.

I will check on the cntl shft 1...thanks for the tip...Like i said, i dont really know too much about how the whole networking thing, but i do know what the ping is for. I was curious about my connection and if it is messing up, but would be a coincedence that my connection would shoot craps the same time i updated to v.15...When v.13 was running fps had to be 25-30 because there wasnt and skipping whatsoever...even when others spoke of lag, i saw no drop in performance....

No this has been occuring for some time. ANd there is no fix insite. Every so offen this ocurres, seems likt the coders have either broken a part of the UI or they introduced anoher code to which causes it.........Whatever the case its occuring STILL.

Ok, I tried everything and had no luck. I basicly learned to live with the screen skip and the slow rezzing thinking there is an up date (ver 16) comming up and I will see if the problem is fixed. So to my suprise two days before the update, everything appears to me normal for me....? YEAAAAA everything is working great, just like it used to. Awsome what a great week it was....Then the update came out...I figured well it isnt broke, and im loving everything working good, so i will just wait on the update. Well, a day or two after the update, everything goes back to the severe skipping and slow rezzing....UUUUGGG!
Well I will try the update....No luck still stuck with the problems....! How can this be...? None of my settings have ever been changed but the performance goes from an A+ to an F.... Are the Lindens messing with me? Are they aware of the problem ? Is it happening to others? Is there a way I could get an explaination? Ive never got a response from the help desk from the first time this happened, HELP>>> Any ideas of what is going on...?
