Why is this back I thought we liked it the way it was? If you didn't say anything and left the list on the right gets shorter but not everyone has to read you just left.

apparently according to the release notes they considered it a bug that it didn't do this in the previous versions.

hey LINDENS! That's the ONE bug you should have left IN!

What the hell? Groups were almost tolerable since they removed the message.

Don´t believe this is a viewer-side thing, because I noticed it had come back last night without changing viewer. Not sure how they could ever imagine this group IM spam was a good thing.

Anyhow, here´s the alternative jira issue:

I would like that I could choose not to have "so and so left the session" even if he wrote something. Because if I read / write something to the group and so and so is not reading it, its his problem, not mine.

I actually missed having it, when it works right. There have been several times I"ve been carrying on conversations only to realize everyone had left. It's rather annoying. The issue with it is when you close the window, and it keeps re-opening with those messages. Once you close it, it shouldn't reopen. Of course if you *really* don't want it, then i think people should be polite and say something like "ok, leaving the chat." or some other indication that they have left, (and to the credit of some, they do). I don't particularly want to write a book into the group window only to find out nobody is reading it. :p

True, but better option would be a number shown how many people are online in the chat. When that goes to zero, I know there is no others. I cant remember is there still some who didn't left the session even when it alerts about so and sos. Plus if I write something to a group, doesn't it go to that group again.

I don't want a window I closed to reopen unless I specifically need it to reopen. If there is a general group that I belong to, it is highly annoying when the window opens just to tell me that so and so left the session. What if I don't care if he left the session or not.

If I left the session, I am not interested did everyone else leave too... Like if I am in a conference and then go home, my fellow workers call me later in the evening that they went home too!

In general, if something is annoying, its a sign that it could be improved. And if the system doesn't get improved and if there is still even more things that don't improve or new things are annoying from the beginning, the system starts to annoy a lot.

Well they fixed it. Thank you Lindens for getting right on this.If you want to know who's listening open the right side of it it shows a list of who is still there and updates whenever it changes.
