In the current version when you create a sphere it is rotated Y 90 degrees. Is there a reason for this?

Are they now rotated differently than before? I do know that spheres have always (as long as I have been around anyway) rezed at a different rotation than other prims, has that changed?

I have detailed instructions for creating small prims from dimpled spheres, written by me just a few weeks ago, and they don't include rotating the sphere. When I follow my instructions now I get a prim that is rotated 90 degrees from what my old screenshots show. This is fixed by un-rotating the sphere, and I'm certain I've never had to do that before.

I thought this had been the way the create tool worked for awhile. I'm pretty sure I noticed it and was annoyed by it in the past. Toruses, Rings, and Tubes are also created at a non-zero rotation... in their case, it makes a little more sense, sorta.

It has been rotated by 90 degrees when created new for at least a year. I am still curious why this is even though this isn't a new thing. :)

The only reason I can see for this. if you create a sphere then hollow and dimple the end you get a hole along the z-world axis. Create a cylinder hollow and you see the hollow is alone the z-world axis. So my guess is to keep thing consistent in a weird round about sort of way. Also cut path works in the same manner. Spheres have always been the odd ball when it come to bug with geometry. being the ones with out the bug.
