What happened to HTML rendered prims?

I may have been dreaming in the distant past...

Does anybody else remember the promise of HTML rendering coming to prim faces?
I also faintly recall the mention of flash enabled prim faces too.

I haven't heard anything on that for about 9 months.

you can display some old crappy non interactive flash tru quicktime, but thats only a side effect of quicktime

SL supports version 3 flash (pre active scripts and alpha channels), another drawback, unless you sacrafice quality, you can't match the file sizes/resolutions of QT. I'd love to be able to use actionscripts and alpha channels, but I guess actionscripts can be considered a security risk in SL's client.
