This new patch is CHUNDER (Crashes, Blackscreens...)

Each time i play SL (Which is daily) I either Crash, freeze (have to turn PC off from power button) or my screen just goes black and I have to turn my PC off. It's REALLY frustrating. This happens at least Twice a day. I haven't had crashes or problems for a very long time, and It's only been happening recently, must be the new patch.

2gb 3200 ram

Sapphire RADEON X800XL 256mb AGP

650w PSU

Yep, me too. Two or three crashes per login, ever since the 1.14 update. Before that no crashes at all. Seems worse when lots of textures have to be loaded.

the more and more the screwup the codes, the more and more .. When people say SL is the "BLEEDING EDGE" they not joking! painful as it is with badly coded UI. I relaly don`t want to buildt my new system just yet. But if this continues i might have too.

Two Words: Memory Leak

I can't quantify it, I'm not a programmer.. but the longer my client runs, the worse it runs. IT has crashed about half a dozen times tonight, and I have had to restart voluntarily at least that many times. Things get bogged down to the point where it's "seconds per frame" rather than "frames per second".

After a restart, things are bright and fresh, but after 30 minutes to an.. hour ..or.. so... it... becomes......... terribly............ ....... ........ dif.... fic..... ul................... t......................... t............................................... o.........................................................

Yes, I know I'm lean on Memory.. but this is ridiculous. Virtual memory can handle the task for nearly an hour, without major difficulties. Something though, seems to be "adding up" and clogging the drain.

FUnny thing is, it takes a bazillion minutes to quit the client. Most often I have to open the Task Manager and end the process. Once that's done though, the PC is happy again within seconds. Then relaunching the program, and everything's happy.... for... a.... while.

I crash 10/15 times during the day since tha last client update

I tried to update video and motherboard drivers now my pc work better with others on line games ... but not with SL

Getting sick of bloody crashes!
Crashing for NO reason and probably damaging my PC in the process

the new version renders SL as unuseable. If it isn't fixed, I will actually be forced to leave, not voluntarily.

Same issues here. I can barely do anything without crashing.

I get about one IM off and I crash, just stared happening this morning too.

Not running Vista and SL has run just fine for me up until the last two hours or so. Restarted my computer umpteen times, did all the usual scans and whatnot....nothing seems to fix it.

It either black screens out or just locks up completely.

Ditto, I'm running on a laptop, Toshiba Tecra M4 with an nVIDIA 6600 te, blackscreens constantly, crashes upon login, or a minute after login. I'm up to date on drivers, I can't go any higher without hacking into the installation file for the newest nVIDIA updates on the site (I try to install the newest updates and it claims that they are "incompatible" with my graphics card. Go figure.) I guess this is it for me and SL, I'm glad, at least, that I'm not alone.

I had no problems with 1.13 (except for occasional crashes), it was fast (and I had a direct comparison since I downgraded after frustrating experiences with 1.14). From 1.14 now I noticed that the interface was suddenly slower, and yesterday I seemed to be online but wasn't anymore (I noticed this because I didn't earn any more L$ after another 10 minutes on a dance pad). I couldn't move and could not close the client properly, it was frozen although the avatars were still moving to it took me a while to realize that it was in zombie mode.

So my personal experience is: less stability, less speed, less fun, Interface (which was fine in 1.13) worse than before.

It seems the some older dual core Itel and amd ( not am amd ) are crashing blue screening . I had this issue occur until I upgraded my system to a 6000+ AMD AM.

Now no more blue...... This current client 1.15 has caused alot more problem.

Just a thought... Maybe it has to do with the fact that you're running dual/duo/whatever processors and you need to set/reset your affinity? /111/9c/141803/1.html

No you should not have to turn off any cores anymore i believe "FIRST LOOK" or so client fixed this issue.

Resetting the affinity does not help. I was running 1.15 for a day or so after the 1.15.0.1 patch with one core only. Then, as described above by others, it just quit working. I log in and if I am in a low texture and no prim zone I may be able to get fully loaded. if I am not in a low texture/prim zone, I crash immediately after logging in.

I had similar problems with 1.14 and had reverted to 1.13 prior to the 1.15 update. That is no longer possible. I have been reduced to runing SL on a 400MHz Pentium machine because the "uber" computer can't.

I am freezing all the time too ever since the new update

I made a post a couple of weeks ago regarding a 'security update' releases by Microsoft.. this caused me to crash repeatedly until I uninstalled it (despite Microsoft repeatedly telling me the sky wall fall in on my head unless I installed it). A week later, they released another 'Security update' which when I checked it out, the statem,ent by Microsoft was 'This update is to fix K**blahh** which made some 3rd party games crash repeatedly', so I installed both the old one and the new one just to make sure I was fully updated.
