The flashing haze around the pie menu is just a big annoyance. Moving the mouse to a segment and then clicking on the choice was hardly any great onus. Now, I find I've R-clicked on it and get no options....you have to hold and move the mouse to get the option you want. This may be OK for drop-down menus in the menu bar, but even those are L-click, and you don't have to hold to find a selection.
R-click to bring it up, move the mouse, and then L-click over the selection. What was so hard about that? Was it so inconvenient that somebody thought that just r-clicking, moving the mouse, and releasing was an improvement? And then they had to go add that haze around the pie menu.....Blech!!

I'd like to say that something about the pie menu - when I go to edit something - sometimes it takes quite a while, then announces to me that I can't go somewhere (I forget the words for this, but it is telling me I can't be auto transported or something is canceled), or it tells me that attaching the article is canceled.
I don't know why. I don't cancel anything - I just try to click edit, then I have to wait a while, and it tells me these things.
I'm not impressed by this little visual *SPROING* either, at that just takes up time before I can even get TO the edit to click on it.

Apparently you missed the "gestures" thing. R-click and hold, the larger pie menu pops up, now drag the mouse to edit and release.

From: Cocoanut Koala I'm not impressed by this little visual *SPROING* either, at that just takes up time before I can even get TO the edit to click on it. Its probably supposed to look nice... which it dosent. It just makes it so that instead of doing what we want it to do the pie menu simply now decides its own action randomly half the time... And apparently its favorite actions are attach object or drop worn ones, which just happen to be two of the functions that crash me most of the time now

From: Draco18s Majestic Apparently you missed the "gestures" thing. R-click and hold, the larger pie menu pops up, now drag the mouse to edit and release. Didn't miss it, though I may not have mentioned it. Still irritating. R-click to bring it up, and if you accidentally move and release, you've selected something you don't want. I really like bringing up a menu and then being able to pause a bit to examine the options. Is the 'gesture' part so necessary? Or convenient? Or just some 'bling' added? rd

I like the idea but when I single-rightclick an object it activates the 'open' command by default. This is a problem for me because when I enter SL, I find that right-clicking everything that I want to load the textures for makes them load faster but now it opens the objects' contents window each time. I don't want this thing to make menu decisions for me Idea: If we aren't going to use the ALT key for the camera anymore, how about giving it to the Pie menu instead? Like alt + rightclick. Then we can use the right mouse button as another control key. (reload, change weapon/flight mode, jump or fly for those who use asdw, Mouselook for those that don't have a wheel... Also, it would allow you to keep the current setting if you really wanted to. - Jolan

Indeed gesture control is a nice idea, but the "haze" is distracting and ugly and in terms of UI attention-grabbing it is out of all proportion to the functionality it purports to signal.

I agree, the signal to noise ratio is down a little far.

There might be some value to someone in the gestural selection method to someone but I dont' think its of any value to me.
I prefered the function and look of the old pie menu, with a white pie menu that stayed the same size, and no gestural mode at all.
I hope we can get an option for the pie menu to be exactly like the old pie menu in every detail, including the color of the text, divider lines, circles, and background.

Does anyone else see the sun flash when they right click objects? Not light, the actual sun graphic.
world/force sun/sunset get the sun in your view, right click objects and watch the sun circle.
My graphic card is crap which may explain it, but its quite annoying at times.

Remember to ask your friends that don't like the new pie menu to post in the forums saying so! A thousand posts with objections carries more weight than a dozen or too.
Oh I almost forgot - I don't like the new pie menu at all. The old pie menu was fine.

My problem with the new pie menu is that single-right-clicking brings up the 'old' pie menu, but half the time it jumps straight to the second page.
