LL funnels new players to their favorite resident businesses yet again.
LL shut down SL to new players for a while yesterday, as they said they would do when the game got too full.
Would-be new players trying to sign up instead see a page (see Second Life Herald for screenshot and story) that, among other things, suggests they players get a head start on their Second Lives by visiting SLProfiles, Second Style, SLBoutique, and Snapzilla.
What about - for instance, SLExchange? Did they do something wrong? Why is LL directing new players to SLBoutique, their competitor?
LL should not be in the business of playing favorites with SL businesses and blogs and giving some free promotion while giving others the shaft.

Hmm, that's pretty interesting. If you go to this page: http://secondlife.com/whatis/business_web.phpyou see a few businesses listed, and the offer have your site added. Maybe that page just picks a few random sites from this list? Did anyone verify it's static?

No, but you can read about it on here: http://www.secondlifeherald.com/slh/Possibly this was only ever used once, during maintenance time. coco
