The performance of the game this weekend has been horrendous!! Extreme Lag, Incredibly Long Rez Times, Interface Lock-Ups , Freeze Ups Requiring Relogging, Freeze Ups From Search Window, Rubber-Banding, Flying Off of The World, Can't Fly a Plane or Drive A Boat (without crashes at SIM lines) , Poorly Designed New Features!
Why the heck don't you people spend some time trying to make the existing game more playable, rather than working on new features that inevitably add new bugs to the game??/
Unless this is done soon, at some point this embarrasingly poor performance will reach critical mass and LL will start to lose paying customers at an ever increasing rate. I believe we are almost at that point. This weekend is the last straw for me. I am paying LL over $300 USD/Month. After this weekend I am now convinced that I am a total fool for doing so and have begun the process of rapidly tiering down.
I don't care how good the content is! If I am constantly frustrated by poor playability I can not play it. I will get more enjoyment out of playing in a less interesting game world that is not plagued by management ineptitude or neglect.
I believe that it speaks extremely well for the potential SL has to offer that we have remained here inspite of its supremely sucky online performance. Players whine and bitch about the performance of the game here not because they hate it, but rather because they love it!
My comments, of course, are based solely on my experience with my existing PC set up that includes an Uber 15Mbs Direct Cable Connection, a Gig of Ram, Updated Drivers , and an excellent Gaming Rig that cuts through ALL other games at high quality settings like butter. Your Mileage May Vary.

From: Thili Playfair isnt SL performance on weekends always bad?, check how many users are online at peek hours -.-; i tend to agree w/ Hok, the poor performance is not jus on weekends and if the game had great performance on the minimun requirement computer than the quality should still be the same after all these updates. Unlike SL we can't afforded to upgrade our systems with each update perform. Bottomline maybe a new and more experience team needs to be employed. There are far to many ppl paying good money for the horrble performance we have been force to endure the past year. started 2004 great performance now pfft?????? sumthing is wrong!

It cant always be our PC
08-08-2006 02:39
When I was in neverwinter my PC was accused of being the culprit... i updated far beyone thier min requirements and upped my connection from DSL to cable... problem solved...With SL I gave them the benefit of the doubt... I purchased a system investing over 4k in it making sure to use thier recamended products as well as exceeded them and upped my cable connection to Xtreme 600... and none of the issues I have been having since the last 6 updates have been resolved... its fine if in fact it is your PC... but using its your fault and not ours with every update that causes problems is wearing thin...you can tell me my posterior smells like roses... but I know without having to bend over and sniff myself I am being lied too.
Come on LL lets get the buglist that continues to grow at the top of the priorities list... whats the use of giving us better things if we cant move in game to use them or crash opening them

The lag is killing Me!

I have had all of the issues Hok has had also. Nothing to do with the weekend, as it's Tuesday now and if anything the performance is even worse now! Another issue I have had is builds falling apart! I bought a rather cool Millenium Falcon this weekend. Imagine My dismay as time and time again it just falls apart midflight! The same thing has happened to other things I have attempted to fly. My PC set up is getting a little on the old side now, I admit. But I am still able to run other games online with no real issues. We shouldn't need a top grade PC to play SL, that's just nuts. Thing is, I had a major increase in lag after the flexi prims and HW lighting was introduced. So I doulbed My RAM and all was well again. Until, that is, a few weeks back when we had that mega bugged update. Now the lag is worse than ever Grrrr! My partner and I wanna buy an island, but LL can go whistle whilst this shoddy performance is spoiling our time in SL. All it's gonna take is another online world to appear that appeals and actually works, and we will be off! Nomore off My hard earned cash for LL! So LL, please get out of your kamimaze, SL wrecking, bug riddled updates and make SL fun again! Bulldog
