Ah, well, in that case...

Flying is almost impossible - I'm flying like I have a mega turbo jetpack on, and I haven't!

Ripply water? Come on! It's too slow and the ripples are about 2 feet high! Ripply syrup more like it...

What do you mean by 'too slow'?

Perhaps eats a lot of CPU and degrades visible performance. Altho, I'm unable to check on Ripple Water in the first place... sure wish I could.

What video card do you have, T2? I was unable to see it with my Radeon 9600 until I upgraded to the Omega drivers, now I see the ripple water fine.

I had ripple water with the first version of the preview grid. This morning when I logged on and got the new patch the ripple water option is greyed out for me.

Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT

Same here... had water, now the option is not available - I assume they took it out to rework it. I have a relatively slower computer (2400+ Athon, Radeon 9600) and saw no noticeable performance loss. It's just a shader, albeit a more complex one than the one that is being used right now for the water. SL for me is processor bound anyways. I say bring on the GPU features!

Ripple Water requires Shader 2 support, which a GeForce 6600 wont support if I recall correctly.

There is a new version of preview out, the second had ripple water disabled, this 3rd version will detect if your card supports pixel shaders, nvidia 6600/6800 are pixelshader 3 cards

Cards that should work being pixelshader 2 and above are

ATI 9500 and above, including ATI series X and series X1 cards

Nvidia FX cards, series 6 and 7 cards

Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 900 and 950 series

(no guarantees with intels, also make sure you have latest drivers if your having troubles)

Cards that probably dont work, pixel shader 1.4 support or below

ATI 8500-9200

Nvidia 2, 3, 4 series

I asked in Hotline to Linden and there is a spot that Robin asked we use.

Here's the Hotline:
