After the 1.6 upgrade... permissions have changed throughout entire boxes... things which were always mod, no copy and yes could be transferred have changed to no mod, no copy and no transfer. Hundreds of items (clothes, outfits, houses etc. etc.) in many store locations are all messed up entirely. Is this a bug or now are we expected to remake/redo things we have spent a well over a year on? Edkc56 Gardner asked me to convey this information to you.

As posted to the hotline here
1.6 permision display changes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To whom it may concern, We have just noticed a major change in the way objects display permissions of their inventory contents. In the past, you could look in the inventory of objects belonging to others and see the permissions settings as they would be after you made your purchase. Example : an object for sale in a prim is set to copy no transfer, you would see that as "Object (no modify)(no transfer)". An object with full permissions would show no qualifiers. After 1.6 it now shows your current permissions on that object. This means even if an object in inventory is for sale with full permissions it still shows that it is no copy no modify no transfer. You are still able to view the correct permissions by checking an individual objects properties. This is done by right click on the name and selecting properties. This change has serious repercussions for sales. There are some items people are unwilling to purchase without full permissions set, such as clothing, animations and textures. In any case the current display mode is misleading to the buyer. A full example: At Textures Unlimited Drift Monde sells all her textures with full permissions. She has the textures grouped into collections, 20 to 40 textures to a sale prim. Shoppers edit the sale prim and look in the objects contents in order to determine what is in the collection. That listing showed no permissions qualifiers in the past, but now shows all collections as no copy no mod no transfer. As shoppers are unwilling to purchase textures with these settings, and the labeling clearly conflicts with Drift's policy stating open textures, her customers either message her complaining that permissions are not correctly set, or leave all together without purchase. Please restore the 1.5 method of display. Thank you, cua Curie The permissions on the objects for sale haven't changed, at least as far as I have seen. Its only the way they are displayed to non-owners of the objects. |
