Grey Goo Code breaks ALOT of objects

Arriving at my store I was greeted with a virtual spam storm of:

CODE
Object: rez failure: grey goo fence: rapid or recursive rez

None of these products are doing anything detrimental. As an example one object rezzes a temporary handle once a minute. Yet every 60 seconds I get the error above. It may be recursive but it definitely isn't rapid. It is recursive for a viable reason. Linked sets (like this handle) can't move as a set when linked to the main object.

Another product rezzes footprints as an av walks - temp on rez and nothing detrimental. Yet on every step the above error is displayed.

This code has affected almost half of my products. I can personally attest that this new grey goo code has broken thousands of in-world objects that I have personally sold.

Find a different way to solve the self replication problem. Please back this grey goo code out. It was not well thought out or tested appropriately.

Furthermore... your Grey Goo code has managed to absolutely WRECK, the popular Stargate system. Stargates are randomly giving the infamous Grey Goo Fence error.

FIX IT, the Stargate is my lifeline for my business! It brings people to my store!

Koi planet fish rezzers are similarly FUBAR'd

We're paying residents, and you break our toys ????
Not a nice way to deal with grey goo.

Much better to restrict scripts to those as you, in blog say are "trusted" soon you do that the better and return things to as they were.

Click me

''Many of you are seeing an error message associated with scripts that were working and now report a “rez failure”.

This weekend we took some aggressive measures to mitigate the ‘grey goo’ attacks, including one which is resulting in this error message because it’s misidentifying your content as grey goo. Your content may be fine, but you’ll be seeing this message for the next 36 hours until we close for the Wednesday update. There are some changes in the update which will fix your object so you no longer receive the error message.

In the meantime, you can take your content to the beta test grid tomorrow to verify that your content will be ok after the update.''

Yes this is another thing pushing some of us not to want to be part of this game anymore. I own a Popular club and half of my stuff doesn't work anymore. I can't rez chairs to teleport to skyboxs and 75% of my furniture has rezzers which those don't work either because of this error. I think at least island owners should have a choice on the level of goo-ness prevention. I am just so mad that yet again Lindens have broke more stuff trying to fix a small problem.

I had this weird problem in beta a long time ago. around 9/27

/54/35/139706/1.html

So I posted it in Beta. Then some one suggested that I post it in the Linden Answer forums. After waiting, Torley moved it to the Scripting tips forums with a link on how to report bugs which sort which seemed a little smart assish to me but maybe it wasn't mean to be. So here we are. and still no answer guess the scripters didn't think it belonged there either. 2 weeks down the road, and now I find out that about two weeks ago they had already implement this code in preview. They started the Gery goo crap two week ago. And all I was doing was coping objects by hand. LL open your eyes and Listen to those in preview! Milo has been a great help there and has really been hard at work testing, reporting, and logging bugs. He deserves a cookie. But it sounds like it is up to the devlopers to decide what to do and what they feel is important.

This is the inevitable result of an arms race.

This is the inevitable result of the arms race Linden Labs has chosen to engage in.

There are two possible paths. One leads to an impoverished environment where nothing "unsafe" is allowed, because there's no way to hold people accountable for their actions. The other requires what LL considers a hard choice... they have to quit handing out "get out of jail free" cards to every tom, dick, and griefer in the form of free anonymous accounts.

That must be why my Starax wand was impotent this morning.
I hadn't used it in weeks, then I whip it out to impress some folks, and *fizzle*
