Instead of always completely exiting the UI every time we exit, how about an option that just logs us out and returns us to the SL login screen?
I've done this myself by changing the startup script to rerun SL when it exits, but I have to kill the startup script when I truly want to exit SL totally.

Never going to happen. LL correctly figure we only want to log out because the memory leak has eaten all available memory, and the only way to reclaim that mem is to close the viewer.

Actually, not in Linux ...

I run the SL UI in Linux (gave up on my Mac) and since updating to the Nvidia 9755 drivers, I've seen neither a crash nor a memory leak since the first version of 1.15.
If you're running Windows or OS X, sorry. If you're running Linux, what does your hardware look like? I run in Fedora Core 6, Single Pentium 2.66GHz, 1GB RAM, Nvidia 7300GT with the 8755 driver. The only time I have to exit the UI is when either RL demands my attention or the sim I'm currently logged into is rebooted or crashes. I'm now running 1.16.0.6 and my session yesterday ran for over 4-1/2 hours. My only issues were a griefer at NCI Kuula and Public Help Island's server was full and I kept getting bounced to an underwater area of the sim next door. So far this evening, I've only been catching up on the forums.
