Doesn't like ATI hardware

Get the infamous "cannot detect your hardware", and it doesn't see half tof my video memory. Slow, choppy, can't go to full resolution...

Please please please, have someone look at the ATI issues that have been around forever. It used to work before the mandatory update, but now is absolutely horrible, and getting worse with each version.

I don't want new features, I want a client that runs well.

If it worked before and you don't need all the new features, try the Nicholaz Old School viewer at http://nicholaz-beresford.blogspot.com/2008/05/version-overview.html

system

Windows 7, 2GB system memory
Radeon 4670, 1GB memory

Not like it's an obscure system to program for.

As cynical as it sounds, I'm starting to believe that LL has a financial incentive NOT to support ATI cards. There's really no other reason for not being able to do it after this many years.

I have too those little problems. XP with ATI card and Linux with Intel. ATI don't work well with SL and Intel don't work with Linux. :D
But i will try that Snow...viewer later today, to both OS.

Try Boy Lane's Rainbow Viewer with the SSE2 patch.

Well, that didn't work either.

It's really getting beyond the point of me caring anymore, I'm spending a lot of time on other games and doing other things. SL really doesn't rank very high on my list of priorities anymore. Which is sad, but I guess LL's inaction is finally doing something good.

Getting me back into other things, and spending money with companies who DO listen to their customers.

I'll keep it up until my business can't make it's own tier anymore, then I'll just fold up shop. It was fun while it lasted, but no, the "spirit" of SL died a long time ago when the old development team was gotten rid of and the accountants started running things.

I really don't care if they fix it anymore.
