You can download it here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/download-secondlife-com/Second%20Life%201-18-0-6%20Setup.exeGo back to it, and many of your problems will be solved. (Things still seem to be a bit worse even so, so all the people trying to use the voice client may be causing a problem even if you are on the old version, but it is LOTS better. Plus you don't have that stupid window.) coco

I've been using the 1.18.0 for a while now. I love the non-voice GUI i've been having.
More people should use this version.

I use the (non voice) Nicholaz Edition. Has a few more bug fixes, and he even offered up a fix on the GUI.

Don't judge Michael.
I reverted back to the old software because I have an old PC. And can't afford to upgrade to what would better run SL at the moment. I tried voice. Honestly I did. Not because it was voice, but because it was a new version. It was buggier for me and just did not work well with my 5 year old pc.
So stop with the holier than thou crap. There are a multitude of reasons why some of use need this link.

A great big pack mule. /me crumples to the ground panting and holding her ribs from jumping up and down. Then re-examines her new driver's license to make sure they spelled "Eeyore" correctly

So...how am I running SL just fine on my P3 (with Photoshop and Firfox in the background)? Honestly don't know. Mine's a crappy Gateway that if I think about it is more like 6 years old. Had a NVIDIA 400! Vid card - and yes, im well aware I need to upgrade. Just more important things to do

Well, Michael, why don't you come visit me and sit here at my computer?
Try it with the voice version, and see how you have all this packet loss and can't move.
Try it with the voice version with voice disabled. Ditto.
Then go back to the previous version that someone kindly provided you a link to, and voila - you can move again.
Now, after you've tried all that, if you would like to continue trying to play SL on my computer with the voice version, you're welcome to it. (But you have to buy me a new computer first.)
I posted that link for people like me, who found that they could no longer play SL with the voice version.
