I am looking for File Converters to make vids able to play in SL

I have found many converters that clame to convert to Quicktime but I have found none yet.

Mostly all the files I been trying to convert from is mpeg wmv and need to make these avi files MUCH smaller...

I shall keep Googleing but I thought I would ask here also.

I thought Quicktime Pro could be used to author Quicktime media.

convert to mpeg 1 or 2 is going to be the easiest with the least amount of hassle. Quicktime will have no problem with them and it's a time tested standard. Now if your video is divx3 then you could convert it to mpeg-4 AVS directly without re-encoding but you will need a special utility (which can be found on the website listed below on the forums).

is a great website on the technical aspects of video editing. They have great guides and a forum where you can find the answer to any educated question. If you want to join the forums there is a 1 week waiting period before you can post (it's so you don't just sign up and post a dumb question, read and search the forums first). The trolls on thier forum's are video hardware & software developers.

I think I found one that works good... havent got home to test in SL but it converted a wmv to a mov
