On the Post New Thread or Reply to Tread pages, under additional options, under miscellaneous options, there is a check box for "Automatically parse links in text"
Since BBCode is disabled, please change the default setting for this checkbox to OFF.
I must uncheck the box every time i have a link in my post. Posters whot do not uncheck it have spurious url tags in their post's plain text.
