omg!

who took that out of there? when i want/need to mute someone/something, i need to do it FAST as possible. not go to the menu... which menu was it? find the menu, click the mute list, type in a name to do a name search... select a name (which it then tells me isn't an actual name? huh?)... no no no!

not only that, but i was trying to mute an object. it used to be quite simple, i could click on the object's green text (well, open the history while the object was talking) and hit mute. easy, huh? now it is hard to impossible. how is it impossible? i'll cover a scenario that happened last night.

somebody in the crowd had one of those godawful talking foetuses. you know what i mean 'mommy feels baby kicking around.' 'mommy has a craving for pickles.' 'mommy has wild mood swings and wants to kill everyone nearby.' etc, ad nauseum.

so, i go to mute it. ain't in the chat history, so forget that.
go to menu, mute... i gotta type in the name of the object. okay, it seems to be named the same as the first name of the propsective parent. (for illustrative purposes, lets say "alice"). so i type in "alice."
that doesnt mute it.
so i notice it actually has a space before the name! haha, im so observant! so i mute " alice".
that doesn't work.

apparently, the object is actually using the /me prefix on its blabber to avoid showing its name! NOW what am i supposed to do?

put mute back in the chat history. PLEASE!

thank you.

JIRA this - I'll vote.

Also, copy/paste doesn't seem to work on the mute object dialog. Very annoying.

Its annoying but you can still mute fairly simply....

open chat history

click the blue button on top right with "<<" on it, this opens the list of avatars etc close to you

Then soon as an object talks etc its name will appear on that list for a few seconds, just select the name and tick the mute box at bottom.

I have muted some annoying Slingo Hosts that were shouting and annoying me while shopping. I wont guarantee that emoting objects will show on that list but the should.

hope this helps some.
