Hello GUYS,

we need some HELP here!

We would like to stream LIVE video into Second Life. We are forced to use a PC and have trouble figuring out how to do it.

We understand that we need a video broadcasting programme (such as wirecast or for mac Apple Quicktime Broadcaster) and a streaming server (such as streamhoster)

The questions we have is:
-we need to use a PC (sorry but we do not have macs) but are not sure if SL can actually also handle any other video stream formats besides quick time in order to stream into second life? any idea? if yes which one is best to use?
-is there any other recommendable software besides the slightly pricy wirecast? (we tried downloading apple quick time broadcaster for PC but it seems that only a mac version is available)
-or how could we get a quick time format video stream to a streaming server if we only have a PC?
-are there recommendable alternatives to streamhoster?

Thanks very much in advance for your HELP!

BEST,

Darwin server is free. Not sure if it can do live video though.

sl uses quicktime to do the dirty work on the receiving end, so if quicktime supports a file format so does SL

also check this out, ive not used it but it seems like it could do the job with some fiddling (plus its free)
