I guess its about time I threw in my opinion on this...I have been playing for a few months, so I haven't been around, but I run on a significantly fast connection (tops at about 700k a second DL speed) with 2 gigs of ram, a nice video card...I can run some of the latest games on full detail without a hiccup, so I know its not my computer doing it. But it seems like every update, the lag and the bogdown on bandwidth gets worse. There are times where my character will stop moving completely, just walk in place. This didn't happen until the patch before the most recent. There are many times that something is going on and all of a sudden noone can move, or you end up walking straight off the sim, through the floor, through the sky, etc.
Now, correct me if Im wrong, but I am pretty sure an update is supposed to make a game work better...I like some of the new things that are thrown in, but are we sacrificing speed for new innovations? Id rather have little to no lag and deal with the bare minimum. SL continually lags until you can't even turn, you just stand there and stare, unless it takes that extra step and crashes completely.
Are there people working on making the game more stable and able to run with less lag? Or is this just a hopeful dream that will remain only as that...a dream?
