Is there one? I can do one that is around 10mb quite easily, but one that is around 30 just never, ever loads. Is this a builtin limitation (as I have no limitation set on myself and waited easily 3 times as long as I did for the 10mb one). Yes it plays in quicktime just fine.

It's not a 'size' limit, but a usable 'bandwidth' limit due to the the movie server's upload bandwidth limit and the clients download bandwidth limit.

To figure out hom many KiloBytes a movie takes per second in bandwidth, divide it's total filesize by the number of seconds it can play. A 10 meg movie that is 5 minutes long equals (10,000 KB / 300 seconds) = 33.3 KB per second. A modem has a limit of about 5 KB per second, and my DSL modem has an Up/Download limit of 50/350KB.

So, I could show the above movie to only one person before bandwidth became an issue due to my smal upload bandwidth, or I could stream about 9 differant movies from the net to my PC.

Let me know if you were able to follow that...

okay so that's helpful.

Filesize / timeofmovie < uploadspeed of server + works in quicktime player = works for streaming.
