I don't think it's just me, but any time I try to use the camera control keys (ctrl, alt, shift in combination) none of them work. I can only rotate around the focus and zoom (alt+arrows). Ctrl+Alt+arrows and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+arrows do nothing other than give me the mouse icon indicating the current function.

It's not just you. I have the same thing, the thing that works for me are the camera movements under 'view', not the shortcut.
