 Since the last update.. I have not been able to log into the regular SL viewer without reinstalling SL each time. The "file, edit, help" bar across the top of the screen appears red. And I received a message..unable to authenticate your avatar... when I attempt to log in. My password, that had always been saved, is now blank. The only way I can log in is to reinstall SL or use the Release Candidate. If I crash out of SL on the regular viewer, the only way back in via the regular viewer is to reinstall SL again and it is making me very frustrated. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it?

From: Nuala Maracas The "file, edit, help" bar across the top of the screen appears red. You're trying to log on to a different grid than the main grid. When you're at the logon screen, use Ctrl-Shift-G to make the grid selection drop-down visible (assuming it's not already, it's right of the Quit button) and make sure it's set to Agni before trying to log on.

This can happen if you have used a copy of the SL desktop icon to the client, and used that to login to other grids such as Central Grid, OpenLife etc.... It can confuse the OS and overwrite certain information in the registry. Hence why reinstalling SL works round the problem.
