stream stopping...

Does anyone else not like that the stream stops if you go to another window?? I liked how the stream played when i was doing other things.. Now i have no music playing when i go to another window ..

This is horribly annoying, I cannot even post an event or read forums now without the music stopping. I understand they were doing it to free up resources and that it has always been a feature that just didn't work properly, but perhaps there should be an option under prefs for the user to choose if they want streaming music to stop on minimize.

Yes i've also just noticed as i run sl windowed that if i click on another screen and not minimise the sl window the audio stops too.

Obviously minimising is there to reduce resources but loosing audio while its still in windowed mode but not focused seems sills, especially if i'm im'ing as i can still see the video rendering and watch the chat conversation

I think they should make it an option in properties if you want this on or not. It's been in the game so long i figure it shoulden't be hard to quickly patch that in. I'd like the sound to keep playing because I multitask a lot and I like knowing whats going on in SL while I'm on another screen doing something real quick.

I second that. It is really annoying as it is now. I always liked to listen to the music while i was scripting and had the wiki open for reference, but now the music stops every time another window has focus.

would also like the option. and maybe a Pause for when i briefly visit a neighbor or stumble over the property line.

Anyone who would like to see the sound muting become a user settable feature should go vote for Prop. 128. I too, would like to be able to leave the audio playing while multi-tasking. It's handy to be able to hear if somebody is typing near you, or an IM pops up, while working on tweaking textures, animations, scripts, etc.

I find this feature annoying, as well. Usually, I am running some other msgr programs and SL on the same puter and if I get outside IM's I lose my music now.

It was suggested by help to run Winamp. This lags my puter to run Winamp and SL at the same time. Additionally, they have made the land URL's invisible to us. Therefore, it makes it harder fo us all to listen on the same stream. Very annoying *feature*.

Count me in on the people that think losing the music stream is annoying when you don't even have the game minimized. I actually came here to start a thread on that but was glad to just add to this one.
