Axel you are obviously not alone - but I have not had any of these problems with the new client - rezzing can be slow, but thats hardly a new problem and seems to correlate directly with the number of people online at the time. And the "stagger" every few minutes, that I have heard lots of people mention isn't something that I have experienced.

Its worth saying this only to help in the diagnosis of the problems that are obviously there - lets hope LL can role out some clients that are better for all players soon.

Axel
To back up your statement I can say that the current version has excelled itself in being bugged. I have grown used to the crop of problems after each update but never before has SL become so unusable. Screen freezes every few minutes. clothes and attachments not rezzing. last outfit worn baking to the skin i had on. and thats without mentioning the problems with the build editor. I have not bug reported these things as in my experience it is not worth it. they seem to ignore their customers in favour of giving out more free accounts and overloading an already stressed system.

here is a list of the things i have noticed with the build editor:-

Dragging prims or groups with the arrows now occasionally moves the prim in opposite direction to that expoected.

When it does go the right way it often bounces about after being released and ends up nowhere near required.

Even when using direct entry to the position fields SL often changes the values input.

When you finally manage to get the prim in the position you want you deselect it only to find the rotation changes itself.

Texturing is a lottery. Now even a sngle prim does not texture fully when selected. Even clicking a texture several times does not guarantee success.

If the main idea of SL is to allow the users to create the content why is so little emphesis given to solving these debillitating problems.

It looks like the update also broke your caps lock button.

I really don`t understand this normal client. The Firstlook client is much better, but the normal client is so so nightmarish.......

here is a list of the things i have noticed with the build editor:-

Opening the Editor palette (Ctrl-3) then selecting an object does not work. Or it may work later. Maybe.

Selecting another object may deselect the palette. Or maybe not. That depends.

After creating a prim, you may switch to Edit mode (as has always been the case and makes total sense), but you may stay in Create mode and rez another prim. Or maybe not. Never knows.

I agree. It's horrible.

Darn, I was just about to type the same. :D

To Axel: Give the First Look viewer a try. Please remember that it's a beta test viewer, but if your problems are related to packet loss, this might just solve them for you.

If that doesn't help, you might get more useful responses by posting some specifications (processor, RAM, graphics card, broadband speed, etc.).

THIS RELEASE IS JUST TERRIBLE

I guess these Linden people are using the Main grid for testing new software components in stead of doing that at the Beta grid.

Why don't they test their stuff decently, before it is released?

I agree with all of you.

This version is just unusable, keeps crashing every 3 minutes.

I've been having to re-login like 20 times a day

Each Upgrade is a Downgrade!

I agree this version is the worst yet. I have experienced nothing but problems since downloading. You Lindens should be ashamed of your selves, releasing "New" versions so often. Ive only been on SL for two months and this is the Third or Fourth new release, each one has worked poorer than the first. I too am a business person and have invested thousands of US dollars in SL. Quit screwing around with feature updates and make sure the ones there are worK. And maybe if you guys spend less time on new features, you'll have more time to spend on improving your abismal customer support.

Aside from some lag and packetloss - as well as prims jumping around when trying to position them, I have no real problems with this version. However, before I got my new computer, my client was also freezing up every few minutes, objects were slow to rez, etc. particularly with the new optional viewer. I dunno - something to think about.
