well here the issue. i have a dell laptop with intel dual core 2.2 ghz 1Go Ram and an ATI mobility X1300 128MB graphic card.

the issue is that since Linden placed the voice system and their lastest client version you had to download my frame rate drops at 0.2 FPS

i checked my whole system with Dell as well to be sure no hardware was having issue. i also updated every drivers that were not up to date (which mean very few) and still my FPS goes from 10 to 0.2 when i try to move and never goes up.

i know the Ram might be a bit low but as every other games or software i use are encountering no issue and have framerates of 25 or above (some software being online games with high 3D graphic as well ) i am forced to conclude that something is wrong with in the SL client itself.

if anyone has an idea on how to settle this thank you

I've heard things a while back about voice being enabled causes client slowdowns. Try turning it off.

Using a mobility Graphics Chip, your system has to cope with not only the graphics using much slower system ram, but also swapping that ram when the SL client demands more. Your best bet is to turn off a lot of the grpahic eye candy, especially Particles, which are a huge drain (default setting is over 500). Check in the Graphics section (dependant on which Client you are using) and turn down the amount of Ram that the graphics use, until the system becomes more stable. Turn off Movies/TV as these can grab bandwidth and make the graphics chip work even harder as it dynamically renders movies frames (around 25fps) into parralex shapes.

I...truly have to thank you. I've been going crazy lately trying to figure out why SL would just NOT work for me at all...Constant freezes, crashes...No matter what I did, it would not let up, until I read your suggestions. I turned of particles, turned down RAM, movies/tv was already turned off, and I also turned off Voice chat. Now SL runs perfectly...Heh well as good as it can run on my computer (Radeon 9600 + 1 gig of RAM = 10fps on ground, 30 in sky).

Thank you again! I stayed up till 4 AM just to get this answer. xD Now I can sleep happily.
