This was listed as "fixed" in the last update, but it hasn't been fixed for me.
I can have a script editor and a notecard editor window open side-by-side. I can switch over to the notecard window and type with no lag at all. However, when I switch over to the script editor and type, the client freezes for up to a second at a time, and then spits out multiple characters in blocks.
Can this PLEASE be fixed? Scripting is becoming a serious chore dealing with this problem.

Not this update. All that was fixed was framerate affected by long scripts, not the editing.
So I read it's getting fixed in 1.13 (sigh ... that's at least 2 updates away).

From: someone * Large chat history, notecards and scripts no longer negatively impact viewer framerate
Well, here's the thing: The scripts I am editing which cause the typing render lag are fairly large. If I create a new default script and edit it, it is perfectly fine; I can type and it keeps up with me. The more text I add, the laggier it gets, until it gets so bad that further work becomes a hideous nightmare. Actually, after a bit more testing, the same thing is true of the notecard editor as well. The more data in it, the slower it gets. I don't know what the actual reported problem was that they "fixed", but it sure does sound like it was the one I am seeing, and it is not fixed.

From: someone So I read it's getting fixed in 1.13 (sigh ... that's at least 2 updates away). I filed a bug report last month. I'm waiting for this bug-fix to return to SL. This bug gets me so annoyed I don't think SL is worth it anymore. I know I could use an external editor and ctrl-a,ctrl-c,ctrl-a,ctrl-v between windows, but this seems ridiculous for every little tweak I make when LL should just fix their editor. How can you make a client-side text-editor unresponsive? You would have to try to mess things up to do that. I made WinForms Desktop Apps, and if I ever released BS that substantially slowed down our corporate clients productivity I would have to stay overnight to fix it. Typing 1 character per second would not be acceptable. I would be ashamed if my software did something like that. How can your programmers sleep at night... knowing they're forcing other programmers to write code in a crap editor like this? Well, I don't have to make products here. So until this is fixed, I won't.

@Talarus That's exactly what I reported quite some time ago. It's already been repro'ed and confirmed. The fix is scheduled to arrive with the 1.13 update. I'm very much affected also. So in the meantime I'm either doing some tests with short scripts or working on making new avatars.
