I'm a photographer in game, and no. matter. how. hard. I try - I can't take clear shots like I used to. I get the model rezzed..posed - and either the background comes undone or the model does. I've got newest update for video card - and it's not top of the line, but it's never had a problem running SL before. I'm going to have to close down my business until this problem is solved and we go back to the old style.
Lindens, going to pay for my lost income?

We should have the ability to use the old snapshot system. It worked fine. There was no large body of people asking for the new system.

I totally agree. If some people enjoy the new system - more power to them. But I, for one - can not handle it.
Please Lindens - fix this. Give us the option to use the old picture system. Something, anything.

I have found that setting the quality to 100% & setting the size to custom of 1500x1500 around the max upload size allowed for top overall rez quality, To be the over all best sadly I don't understand why it goes upto 6000x6000 when it cost around 100 some off megs. Looks shotty on your screen but once you save it to your harddrive & view it or upload it at the 1500x1500 everything should be fine. "Happy shooting" knock them customers out with that beautiful "INSERT WORD HERE"
P.S. ya the old one was nice to, never understood why the quality of updates & upgrades always seem to need a can of "Raid" to often.

I've tried a few different things to increase the quality of the shots, and although still blurry as a drunk's eyes on New Years Eve, I've been able to muddle through and edit the crap out of the picture so it's not a smeared mass of pixels.
Problem is: what used to take me 1 hour at most to take a full set of pictures now takes me 4 or more. To get the lighting set for each picture, the model set, the background rezzed (as the model unrezzes and vice versa) and then FINALLY getting the picture - while the model/model's posse talks and asks questions (photo shoots dun have to be a family affair, people)..meanwhile I miss part of the conversation, the picture looks like crap and it takes me another 5-10 minutes to get it right.
I'm not a bad photographer by any means (I ain't bragging coz I have no self esteem) but this last big update has made taking pictures near impossible. What was wrong with "Click-save" or "Click-discard"? Is this meant for people who can't figure out how to finagle the camera? Or is it just the Lindens playing with us again?
*snicker* "Hey, let's totally screw up something that worked just fine and listen to the unwashed masses who pay our bills complain!"
"Dude, totally killer idea!"
-.-

Well you know that you can still take quick snaps by using the ctrl+` key combination? That seems to take staps pretty much the old way as far as I can tell...

Yah, I've used it a few times for the candid quick shots that I take (making fun of people, finding amazing/funny/silly/cool things, etc) but I do need a preview of when I take the "professional" shots. I'm sure I could take a picture, preview it in craptastic mode, make sure it's ok, discard and then take a shot this way..but what a damn pain! A minute or more to take a decent picture instead of 10 seconds or less.
Time is money and people are impatient for the most part. Now and then I get a patient, understanding model and they're really good with me having to take 4 FREAKIN HOURS to get a good number of excellent pics - but for the most part it's just not viable to do this anymore.

But you used to be able to take high-resolution snaps using the option in the debug menu. (click the option and all your remaining pictures are high res until you tell it otherwise ore relog) Now, the button stays checked, but it doesn't do a thing. And yes, all my pictures are fuzzy now.

I'm putting my votes on 1683 instead

From: Zazas Oz Please E1 go vote it is proposal #1768... Thanks! I reckon you oughta join forces with 1683, because it's just a wee bit clearer, and splitting the votes just makes it harder to get enough.

I wont vote for anything else EVER if they bring back the old system
08-09-2006 11:29
This new snapshot system has got to be the most cumbersome nasty poiece of work to date. I dont even take snapshots within SL anymore. It just isnt worth it. Id GLADLY give up my rights to vote on anything if they would just leave the GOOD features in SL alone, who the heck requested this mess?

You are right about splitting the votes and yes that proposal is exactly what I wanted If I had known it was there I would never have made the proposal and I did look. But I will delete mine if its possible and put my votes on the other.... Thanks
