~Land Extortion Ruining SL~

This has happened in the past, and SL staff reacted.

There is a few different rules in the TOS about griefing, and putting up offensive/eyesore signs falls under that issue.
There needs to be a change in TOS regarding land sales.

Here is a pic, of one of the 100's of compleatly ruined sims due to 16M farming.

Heck, There are very few sims with out a 16M ad in it.

Rule change #1: No advertising of any kind on land that is for sale under 256M in size.
Rule change #2: No owning more than twenty 16M plots (or ten 32M plots, or five 64M plots)at once of your tier is under 1/4th sim.
Rule change #3:No advertising non SL related items/services/games


These 16M farmers are ruining the landscape of SL. Sooner or later it will be imposable to build larger scale buildings on mainland, due to every sim being dotted with 16M lots. Only way would be to pay $L10,000 or more to aquire each spam lot.
(BTW, ask Guy Linden how many adfarms he has now..I know I've seen a lot of LL owned 16M's)

ALL AD Farms should be Banned from SL, They drive land prices down and nobody wants to look at them, Much less pay the OUTRAGES prices for the small plot so you yorself can remove the ads!!!!!!!!!

No one wants to live next to a 16M farm, so all property with in sight of them, becomed devalued.

Doesn't explain the 16m plots going for 10k L$ though.

Well, I avoided renting a 512m/s plot of land once because of those things.
They look so goddamn ugly when flying around the main grid...

I've mentioned this before but I think it's time for SL to finally incorporate the ban list into the buy screen or land options. If they did that the "Die Spammer Die" cube by Dragon Keen could be used on everyones land that wants to use it as it contains a list of the top 100 or so worst offenders in SL. If they couldnt buy the land then they would have to get new accounts to buy or buy in ares that people dont mind. It seems the easiest way to remedy the situation is to give sellers not only the right to choose who they want to specifically sell to but also who they dont want to sell to. It would help to stop the known bots from buying your land as well. Just an idea, but I think it would go a long way if all of the larger land dealers used the same database and tracked who the spammers are and worked together like our group does(SL Estates) to prevent those people from buying our land by banning them. They truley are a cancer to SL and need to be dealt with!!!

It's sick the way these land cutters destroy mainland, and force residents to pay insane prices, or be be forced to live next to total crap. It's the lowest form of land dealing, and all around dirty business ethics. The Arbor Project has a highly regulated ban system called clocktower project that is becoming more and more widespread that bans well know proven land splitters. If not the ultimate answer, but it does send a message to these spam farmers. Anything reasonable to stop these people is worth doing.
