Were they both pictures you already had? Or did you just take them fresh? The current First Look doesn't have WindLight in it anymore, just voice now instead.
They were taken yesterday using the FirstLook viewer with WindLight... It still works but is extremely unstable... It crashed as soon as the photo was taken...

Did you ever try the beta grid? Did you run into the same problem as the main viewer on the main grid?
Yes... I use the Beta Grid regularly and have always had the same problem there... even with the most recent (ADITI) viewer.

Do you have an older video card? The water looks like you either don't have "Ripple Water" turned on, or you have a video card that doesn't support shaders. (In Help / About Second Life, you can find your video card listed there if you don't know)
Hmmm... Ripple Water is checked...
I have quite a new Laptop... The info on About SecondLife is as follows:
Second Life 1.17.0 (113) Jun 14 2007 17:08:09

One option might be to simply start the main viewer with fresh settings (First Look uses its own which are separate from the main viewer).
On Windows it's
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings (change UserName to your Windows username - you may have to turn on showing Hidden Folders in order to navigate to it)
On a Mac it's
Library/Application Support/Second Life/user_settings (Thanks to Francesca for that

)
Delete the settings.xml in that folder (don't just search for that find and delete any that pop up, that would be a bad thing

) and that folder only when SL is closed and then just open the main viewer again and give it a try.
Thanks for that suggestion... Tried it .. but no joy unfortunately...
Thanks for your efforts Kitty .... I really do appreciate it...!!!!
