Private Island Deeding - A question

"Private Island Deeding - Estate owners and group officers can now mark their parcels on their island as deedable."

Does this mean that once the private island has been deeded to the group, the group's tier contributions can support that part of the island (or all of it) which has been deeded?

Certainly seems like this is what is meant. But it seems like a very significant departure from the current private island ownership policy.

Estate owners can set their land to 'group owned' for permissions and auto return reasons, but not for sharing of tier cost.

Currently this requires Linden support intervention: someone at Linden Lab has to manually change the land to group owned and manually change it back if the owner wishes.

With 1.6 this process will now be automated. The owner of an island can 'deed' individual plots of land to the group and has the option to reclaim those parcels at any time. Deeded land on an estate will still work exactly as it does currently in terms of functionality. The process of making land group owned is what has been improved.

Just for clarification. When an Island is group owned, can other officers sell the island or only the estate owner?

Only the estate owner.

Estate Controls

Kelly
People have long asked for the estate controls to be accessible by more than one person... (i.e. officers of a group)

Any word on this? It's hard if the owner of a sim has to be around 24/7 in case of changes that need to be made

Thanks !

Kelly, if I deed land in one sim to a group and then leave the group, will group officers still be able to use land functions even if sim owner is not group member? And can I claim the land back if I am not member of that group?

It is not a feature of 1.6. I am not sure where this feature is in our schedule right now, sorry.

Yes, group officers will still be able to use land functions even if you are no longer a member of the group.

Yes, as the estate owner you will always have a 're-claim' button available to you in the About Land floater for any land in your sim that is group deeded.
