Hi everyone - Since I did the last upgrade approx 3 days ago I have had nothing but a real problem with sound when the stream is change like at an open mic and also in teleporting. I have had to reboot like 10 times after logging on, having media at home then teleporting and ZIP GONE I have just tonight download the RELEASE CANDIDATE as it was suggested to me but once again, logged on, had sound, teleported and POOF GONE. I have had no problems with my sound in other programs, the use of winamp etc. When working with SL LIVE MUSICIANS and owning a venue this is not very enjoyable anymore

Any suggestions are open to discussion or any ideas as I am so ready to cancel anything to do with Second Life after being a resident for over 2 years

Thanking you in advance,

Hi Amanda.............I remember you. :)

Some things to try before you cancel SL. Try looking of a newer driver update for your audio card. If there is none then uninstall the driver you are using now and reboot. When Windows comes back up it will see you audio card as a new hardware device and want to search for/install a driver for it......just close the window without allowing Windows to do that. Then go find the driver for your card, download it to your hard drive, and close your browser.............install the driver from your desktop (don't do any "auto installations" from a website). Sometimes drivers get corrupted (God only knows why) and when you install over them the corrupted part stays and you don't fix the problem. And if the driver is corrupted but working Windows won't even know........so it says everything is okay.

And, if that does not fix it you might do a thorough disk clean up (third party utilities like CCleaner are excellent programs). Then do a disk defragmentation.

Hope it helps. :)
