How do I get my Wedding back???

Dear Lindens,

You've really excelled yourselves this time.

You've taken the servers down with 5 minutes notice HALFWAY THROUGH MY WEDDING!!!

Normally I am not one to complain, I've played many online games and learned to be tolerant of technical issues. I've also been tolerant of SL's many quirks, from crashing on every other teleport, being unable to even move, stream music, etc.

Now, however, I am faced with a day that has been irrepairably spoiled, a day that should have been something special to remember for me, my beautiful bride, friends and guests.

This was a special day for us that neither of us where taking lightly or casually. a unique moment for both of us that has now been fizzled away by the ever-flaky asset server, never to be reclaimed. So I am left with a very upset wife and companion and dissapointed and enfuriated guests.

You can reclaim assets, you can't reclaim the magic of a special moment.

So I ask you openly, what are you actually going to do about this?

That is not a question to which I want a standard "We're sorry, technical issues, blah, blah, blah" response. Sorry, but thats simply not good enough, nor entirely appropriate in this case.

I want a human answer, what are you going to do for us to compensate for this?

I'm so sorry that your day was spoiled...I can't even imagine how you're feeling right now.. I really hope you get things resolved soon and you can re-create your special day...

Now that just plain sucks! I sure hope it does not happen during my up-and-coming ceremony!

Even RL weddings are spoiled by lots of different causes and issues. Weather, bad food, a trip and fall at the altar, etc. SL is even worse because these things happen all the time.

I think that using SL as a platform for such a special occasion is risky at best, foolish at worst. Yeah, sure, do it, but there's really nothing to be done, but shrug your shoulders and re-schedule. Hopefully, you won't have to do it a third time, but there's always a chance.

Basically, LL is going to do precisely dick to "compensate" you, because they never promised anything to you to begin with (no, really, read the Terms of Use). SL is merely a "best effort" and everything you do and plan within it should take that into consideration.
