Was able to accept the new TOS for my alt (which I logged in first) but my main account is still "Loading...". I cleared cache and rebooted but to no avail. I've been able to log back in since with my alt so it's not a client or connectivity problem.

I have no evidence at all to support this idea but you might try turning your cable modem off.
One can always try uninstalling SL and then re-installing.
Do you get to the login screen? Is so then you might see if there's a place in preferences to clear your browser cache - the SL mozilla browser, it's a separate cache from the SL object and texture cache.

Seven Steps to Getting the New ToS to Load

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction SuezanneC.  I'd already accepted the new ToS with my main, but couldn't get it to load for my alt. It was simply a matter of: 1) Launching the Second Life application. 2) Clicking Preferences button. 3) Clicking Web tab. 4) Click both 'Clear Now' buttons. 5) 'OK' your way out of the Preferences screen. 6) Login to SL as usual. 7) Scream with joy when ToS screen loads.

still not working .. thx.. any more suggestions? isnt it amazing that i will work on this attempt to get into SL for hours on end and I get bored at work and quit a project after several minutes if it is not working????
