Has anyone noticed that the new serach in the RC viewer removes the bandwidth and lag bars under the close X? I for one use these CONSTANTLY to know when to move or what problems SL is currentlyhaving (and there are A LOT) of them. And while the statistics (crtl-shift 1) does also tell that information, I don't like to have that open constantly. And when I have a mini map open or inventory the stastics is covered up anyway. I have created a issue on the tracker:

The new search is nice but not at the cost of information that many of use all the time.

I also miss this. Would be nice to have it again in the viewer without the techie strg+shift+1 thingy.

Oh wow! I'll vote. But I'm with Meade - in most engineering shops, showstopper is reserved for things that cause crashes and block basic functionality, not for informational features.

there is also the new lagmeter in Help, how about that? Works better or equally as the two bars, that didnt say much anyway. I mean , yes we have packetloss and yes there is lag.

I don't particularly find the search at the top useful, but then again i never particularly found the lag thingy up there useful either. For all I care, they can put a little picture of a piece of pie there, and that would suit me just fine. :p

I use the packetloss indicator as a quick check to assess the risk of rezzing something, camming around wildly, buying, TPing, or performing a number of other operations at this moment. If packet loss happens to be high for any reason, I will go elsewhere to do whatever, or wait for a few minutes. It's extremely handy to be able to see immediately without clicking on anything.

Do these things when packet loss is present, and you risk losing inventory or crashing. I have not had a single inventory loss since being careful about this (since about June).

Yes it was handy to see instantly how healthy things are.

Someone bumped this down to "major", which makes sense.

Please go vote!

Yes it is not a showstopper, I made a error on that, it should be critical in my opinion (and is what I was going to have originally) but I agree it is not a showstopper. As for the lag-meter that is of no help in this case. I can have a lot of packet loss and the meter says everything is fine. It does not give the degree of what is going on either. Just that something "may be" a issue. It is akin to the one "engine" light they use to have in cars. That would come on and you had no idea what the problem was. It could be oil, heat, transmission, etc etc.

I think the new lag meter is far more useful than the little packet loss widget, especially for novice users.
