But which release are they going to fix problems I've encountered when I joined, around 1.4?

The problems I'm talking about are:

Generic lag. The game runs horribly on even high end machines.

Sim border crossings. Don't attempt to move a vehicle at standard real world speeds. Anywhere.

Physics. Friction does not exist in SL unless scripted and from the generic downforce provided from the inverted "push" type of gravity we have going that gets stronger, seemingly, as you go up. The atmosphere also has no substance, so there is little purpose to the "wind" except for pushing particles in some direction.

Joints. Can you just take them out of the build menu if you don't want to implement them? I mean, they kinda work, but they do randomly stop working and the problems with physics I mentioned do make them somewhat useless for many applications.

I've never asked for videos or further sparkly menu highlights that don't really add to my experience (since I have to disable media streaming on a broadband connection to move around somewhat normally). I've only ever asked that the problems that were there, get fixed. They haven't. When will they?

Kudos to fixing the laggy prim attachments problem. I can no longer crash preview sims just by flying across sim borders.

Yeah, 1.6 should have done caching rather than video streaming.

Why can't certain areas download into a cache?

I'm sure this will come in 1.8 though. Basically, there will be areas where you stream in a file similar to a quake map or something. That will be cool :)

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."
