Don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but if I accidentally or otherwise "drop" a modifiable object, when I "take" it back into inventory it becomes no-modify.

O^O!

I'll check that... I know a friend was trying to mod a full-mod avatar yesterday morning, and while the 'fuzz' on the right leg allowed him to modify it just fine, the fuzz on the left leg thought it was no-mod. But if he detached it and looked at it in inventory, it said it was modifyable. Re-attach, and it's not modifyable again! The fuzz on the left and right legs seems identical, so he will likely just copy one to the other.

Tried in-world, by rezzing a cube, wearing it on my hand, and dropping it. Did not get the effect yo saw, so I don't know what was happening in your case. I could not replicate it.

I have seen it once or twice, but was not able to come up with a set of repro steps :(

It is not really a bug. As far as I remember, it will happen when you rez a Mod object, that has No-Mod object inside. When you take it back it'll become No-Mod tag.

It should still modable when you rez it down again though, if my memory right.

I have sofas for sale that contain poseballs made by someone else. I want the sofas to be modifiable but, even though I set them to mod and transfer, it says no modify in brackets when taken into the inventory. Are you saying that they will be modifiable by the buyer even though it's says not? I wasn't sure if it was the poseballs that were unmodifiable or the whole thing because it contained them.

Well, easy way to make sure it the prims are modable with no-mod stuffs in it is take the object into Inventory first, then set Mod from the right-click Property. The prims will be modable even if there're something no-mod in it.

If you want to be sure, just give it to a friend to check ^^

It *will* be moddable. It says "no mod" because SOME TINY PORTION (i.e. the pose script or the ball) is set no mod. Same goes for no copy and no transfer.

Ok, I'd best put something about it in a notecard to avoid confusion.
Thanks.
