Posted this elsewhere and no answers so I'll try here.
I was reviewing the old tips regarding reducing lag, but I wonder if these tips are still appropriate to the latest update? Particularly with Windlight which is what I use most of the time now.
Are there any new tricks anyone can offer and should that old sticky be updated?

Don't overdo the sculpties. For every sculptie, there are two textures that have to be downloaded instead of one, and every sculptie has about 10 times more vertices that the video card has to render. So you get network lag *and* video card lag (low framrates). I can't say how many places recently i've TPed into, only to find the *whole* place was made of sculpties. And the lag was unbearable. Used appropriately, they are great. But just don't go hog wild.

Sculpties also refresh at around 12.5-15fps so are equivilant to watching a movie.
