This time over half it appears..the items show in list but when I try to rez I receive the much dreaded OBJECT IS MISSING FROM DATABASE. This time I have waited a week to see if it magically cleared itself up like last time (although I did have to request help last time). No dice. I have been in SL since BETA and have been through a lot. I am usually the one to say wait it out but this sort of thing is occuring more often than not and has come to the point where I, as a customer paying a car lease payments worth each month, can no longer justify the expense. I am just going to forget the thousands I have already spent in real dollars (that is not including monthly tier just land purchase) and move on I imagine. I have enjoyed SL for the most part it is a truely unique environment and hope one day it becomes stable.

I've been lucky to have lost very little so far, though friends of mine have lost many items from their Inventories. One friend went to the 0-0-0 co-ordinates of her sim, then went to wireframe and looked down inside the ground. She had a time pulling items up and out, but she did recover a few things and even more that belonged to unknown owners. And some sims just seem to have the SL version of the invisible black hole, it takes stuff and pops it into someone else's Inventory. The recipient will not be able to "see" who owned it previously since it will now only show themselves as the owner. My friend Jer had a sports car show up in his Inventory one day. He checked his transaction history and his memory, no car purchase at all, it was a mystery.

Well it seems some progress has been made. The verbose message of "Missing from database" has been replaced with the generic "Can not rez/Timed Out" message. I feel much better!

Love the pic - can I use it please?
In the past I have lost lots of stuf - at present, on my site and others I beleive, the problem with lag and rezzing is worst than it has ever been - well worst than I have ever experienced

I hate to ask the dreaded question, but this behavior is often caused by a corrupt cache file on your local machine. Have you tried clearing your cache, which will force it to re-download in its entirety?
Load SL, but don't log in. Click PREFERENCES, NETWORK, and click CLEAR CACHE.
Quit SL, restart, and try logging in. You'd be surprised how often this actually works.
Regards,
-Flip

-Flip Sorry Flipper, I started trying that months and months ago. Many items were perminantly lost at that point and clearing cache has never had any effect. Since then intermitantly large groups of random items (mostly things I have not worked with in a long time) would give the msg then return to inventory weeks later. At last check I still had a large group of items that were unavailable and have been for many months. I know it is not just me, I have talked with others having the same issue. Usually they were old players with tons of personal or commercial builds in there inventory (inventory items list at over 10,000). I have tried clean installs, different OS's and repeatedly clearing cache (which just ends up frustrating me because the reload takes so long now with the lag issues). I am just at my end here I guess. The good news is I have found a new home (in another project) already and am doing development, I am happy again with my new hobby and my new sims. PS to post above...Yes you can use the pic!
