problem with terraforming (and other issues) in v. 1.21.6 -- anyone else?

i installed upgrade. i also started using the new skin. not sure which is causing the problem.

terraforming smooth command does NOT work. it seems to be functioning very similarly to roughen now. i've been searching for where this might have been listed as an issue, but haven't found anything regarding this. has anyone else noticed a problem? does anyone know where i can find official info regarding it?

other issues with new skin (or maybe new viewer/skin combo?)
communication window has bigger border. why waste screen real estate on big borders? yecch.

can anyone tell me if the new skin adds any real new functionality/widgets or is it all cosmetic? if it's only cosmetic, i can go back to the old skin.

I used the "smooth" terraforming option, as well as several others, yestsrday on My Mac, using the 1.21.6 client, and it worked flawlessly.

And the new skin is 100% cosmetic fluff. It doesn't gain you any new features at all.
