You need to make it obvious that people need to allow people to see eachother on the map.
I just spent the past fifteen minutes just clicking the "can see me on the map" button just to give my numerous friends the right to see me.
Really, what's the point of having a friends list at all if you're going to deny people the right to see you online, or on the map? You might aswell just write people's names down on a peice of paper!
Here's an idea: Why don't the lindens put their "un-needed" ideas through the feature voting process, rather that assuming it's a good idea? I see better ideas in the feature voting than the stupid crap (which will probably end SL in a short ammount of time) the developers add on each patch.

Yes. They were requested it a LOTS in the forum. Also, you only need three click to allow everyone on your Friend List. You can multi-select friends now. So just select them all and hit the button once

i think its an OK feature, they just implemented it ass backwards, friends should have been left as they were, and taken off map or permissions at our discretion not theirs. Would have been a lot less work on every ones part, even theirs i bet  |

I LOVE the fact that they did this. Its a great tool to have. You may have some friend that you like but drives your nuts once in a while and won't shutup as soon as you login, lol. This allows you to be online and be left alone if you want. Most other chat systems such as Yahoo and MSN offer this tool as well. GOOD JOB LINDENS!  |
