Editing Objects For People Who Give You Permissions

Since the update yesterday, I have been unable to edit objects belonging to people who have given me the edit rights to their objects.

Right-clicking an object that isn't mine and selecting "edit" deselects the object and leaves the edit window sitting there empty of info. The mouse pointer is still in "select" mode, but clicking on any object other than one I own produces ZERO results... doesn't even select the object.

In addition to that... not being able to edit the objects of people who have given you their edit permissions, it means you can't get a prim-count on any object that's not yours. Used to be that if an item description didn't say how many prims an object was, you could go to "edit" that object -- and get a prim count, who the creator and owner was, useful info like that. I used to do that all the time to check the primcount in an object before I'd buy it, or to find out who the creator was so I could contact them.

That's all a thing of the past, it seems.

Well done on the most recent update. Not.

Have you tried unchecking Tools -> "Select only my objects"?

That edit window sitting there empty has also happened to me in two conditions:

1. trying to edit my land
2. trying to make a prim other than a cube

Both of these have since resolved themselves (so far). The land one quit when I discovered I needed to click on that little icon for "land" in the top of the box.

The one with the cube just didn't happen the next time I logged on.

So there is definitely a problem with the edit window keeping its focus. Gee! That sounds practically techy! Did I say it right?
