More unstable now than I can remember...

I am majorly infuriated with the latest release and updates this last week.

Way back, many months ago, I was having plenty of issues with crashing until I updated my PC with new gfx card, memory, processor etc. Suddenly my SL world was sweet as a daisy. Crashes were rare, very rare, and enjoyed months and months of stability allowing me to develop my businesses in SL and be pleasantly productive.

This last week my whole SL experience has been marred with bugs which, to be fair, LL have made an effort to redress with the updates and restarts.

However this latest viewer, probably in conjunction with these updates and restarts, is now more unstable than it has EVER been in my time here in SL.

The viewer is crashing to desktop with alarming frequency at random times and with random causes. When I do remain logged in for a small amount of time it is impossible to produce new content as the viewer freezes on alt-zoom (and crashes too), uploads of textures are hit and miss, transactions are timing out, attachments are "pending" indefinitely, the list could go on and on and on.

I have never seen it so unstable and am frustrated beyond words...

Why is it that an update and restarts, that are implemented to correct bugs and issues, cause more problems than they correct? What is that all about?

Sorry guys... I really needed to get this off my chest before I go beserk...

Come on LL... lets get some stability back on the grid before anything else... this should be the top priority.

My land is unusable - I know LL work on a shoe string and I'm sure they are pulling their hair out trying to keep the thing running possibly with fence wire and chewing gum but ...

It is progreively getting worse and worse. The grid performance is so bad that it is just about impossible to log on and actually DO anything during peak hours. I don't even bother trying until about 8:30 p.m. SL time.

We have huge log in problems, huge TP problems, lag so bad that our AVs can't even move; failed business transactions, inventory loss and now huge billing problems. for example, I have been trying to pay those LL people my monthly tier of $125 plus my quarterly premium of $22.50 w/o success now for well over a week.

Do any of you remember Project Open Letter? They [LL] snarked it off in a totally idiotic "town hall meeting" which was a complete joke. the sim they had it in even crashed. It was nothing but spittle in the face of everyone who pays those people. right after that, of course, they got distracted by the German Age Play crisis.

Project Open Letter needs to be revived and made more public.

If it weren't for the amount of land I own, which I can't sell right now without taking a beating, I would just tier down, downgrade to basic and sign on about once a week and not spend a cent in SL. I believe now I will have to do that eventually.

I have to agree it is lagging terribly since the last viewer release - everything was running smooth before then but... and now the hair/shoes up the arse after a teleport bug has returned - top that with having huge delays in being able to attach/detach items I end up looking quite a mess...

"Shoes up the arse"-bug is really a unprecedented bug, but very annoying.

I'd sign this one if it were to be opened again. To be honest, I didn't do anything with the last one because I wasn't premium, so didn't feel like I necessarily had the right to sign. However, I now pay for 2 premium accounts and tier for 5632M of land. Bring it back, and I'll sign. I know my husband will to. I was logged on this morning, as I usually have an hour before I have to go to work, and there are usually less problems. This would be about 6 a.m. EST. This morning....when I first logged on everything was fine...then it went downhill. I was trying on demo skins...they just stopped rezzing, so I was stuck with a demo skin on when I logged off. TP's weren't working, friends not loading...grrrrrrrrr! I love SL, I really do, but this gets just so frustrating sometimes that I just want to pack it in a call it done.

This is nothing, should have seen how bad it was in November 2006. Crashing when you got 10,000 online. you could logout half a dozen people with a good particle display.

I'd rather go back to those days anyway. At least things felt stable, unlike the shifting sands it seems like we're working on these days. We knew what didn't work, what crashed us out, and how to fix it, now things just explode and we aren't sure what's doing it.

Not to mention that back when 10,000 online was hell, at least you could log back in quickly when the whole grid came online.

Nope those days were hell, SL is much more stable now, I used crash so often, I would give up on SL for hours.
