Is it me? (my avatar...)

Ok, I'm new (a week or so) so maybe there are settings I should change that I don't know about, but since the upgrade, my skin looks awful. I guess it's the lights, but it doesn't matter if I'm in sun or near a local light, though. Very harsh and the color... ick, what was natural and transulcent now looks flat and spraypainted on. All my skins look like this. All my drivers etc. are updated, btw.

Is it me? Is there something I can change to fix this?

Ok, I turned off the avatar vertex and that seemed to fix things. I also fiddled with the open GPL in my Catalyst controls, but I think it was the avatar vertex.

same probelms as tiohers have reported..avatars are greenish
