I would like to speak, from observation, to all those who are having troubles over the grid with lag, and have been told it is on the user end, like I have been told repeatedly. I have rental properties on a sim on the mainland; the lag the last week and a half has been very, very bad. I am using the same computer I have always used with the same settings on a sim that has not changed much since July. I was trying to put a house up today, and the lag was terrible. I couldn't move, nothing would rez properly, etc., my tenants on line were complaining to me. I received the message to move to a different region, the region I was in was restarting in three minutes. It restarted, I came back into the region to continue what I was doing. There was no lag, things rezzed fine, there were no problems, things were as they should be. It is now my observation that it is not the sim, it is not my computer, it is not my settings, it is not my isp, it is not an overbuilt sim, etc. etc., it is a second life issue. Thank you for listening. Elwood Abernathy

Why do you think this wasn't a sim issue? It was hurting, they restarted it, it came back happy. The sim is just a computer - sometimes they get confused and need a kick.

Just started my first account today and played for a few hours, with a few crashes. Tried to teleport to a Newbie area. First it crashed (actually, it LOGGED ME OUT before I even got to the destination). Then once I actually got there I could not move for 5 minutes!! I definitely won't be using Second Life if this is par for the course. HORRIBLE LAG!!

Lag

From my experience the amount of lag which I've seen during the last three weeks is not usual; it has improved over the last week. The problem is one never knows if it is on the server end or on the user end. In my experience it is usually blamed on the user.
